Interesting that you would be writing about imperfection. A friend of Leah's just made a short film about her. Here is the link: http://vimeo.com/39321701 She talks in here about coming to realize that imperfect and I'm Perfect are the same letters.

I've noticed that when doing photography during my travels, that places that are pretty much perfect (Switzerland, Japanese gardens) make uninteresting photos. I'll try to remember that next time I look in the mirror.

What a phenomenal video! Linda reminds us all about the value of kindness and how even the smallest act can have the biggest impact on others. I have Linda's book and the stories are uplifting, inspiring and life-affirming. Sharing acts of kindness and unconditional love with others are wonderful ways of spreading more light, peace, and joy in the world. Thank you, Linda, for making a huge difference in the lives of others and encouraging us to do the same.

I am generally quite cynical about Valentines Day for many of the same reasons Diana states. But I really do appreciate a different perspective on the day as a "love holiday" rather than a romantic holiday. I regularly show love to my spouse. That's easy. But using the day as an avenue to reach out to others is a fabulous way to look at it. Since it isn't going away, we might as well mold the holiday into what we want! Thanks Linda.

Hello Diana

Thank you for your great feedback. I totally agree with you about the commercialism of Valentine's Day and other holidays as well. You are right...it's the gifts of the heart that truly matter (which is the message of Love Is the New Currency). What are the things that you do to create special moments for others? I would love to share your ideas with others.

I love making cards for people and calling friends to let them know that I love and appreciate them. And the pj's came about because a friend in the northwest, who is financially strapped, mentioned that she was cold and didn't have warm pajamas. It was a friendship gift...although it was also accompanied by a loving note and phone calls of support (and I will confess....a check too).

And like you, I believe that we don't need a special day to let people know that we care.

Hello there! Quick question that's completely off topic. Do you know how to make your site mobile friendly? My blog looks weird when browsing from my iphone 4. I'm trying to find a theme or plugin that might be able to resolve this problem. If you have any suggestions, please share. Appreciate it!

You say that "no one wants to give up the holiday." I wonder how much it would be celebrated if it were not so commercial; that is, if people weren't bombarded with articles, ads, sales fliers and so on. Love doesn't require expenditure! What is it with this idea that if you love someone, you have to spend money on them? (Christmas and Easter have become the same way.) What would happen if everyone decided to let people know they are loved without buying them Stuff, but instead by writing a little note or letter; making a gift they knew the person would love and use; or doing something nice for them? Doing a chore, fixing something that's broken, making dinner for an exhausted working person, or offering to babysit or provide respite care; offering a "promissory note" to do something like this in the future -- all express love much more than chocolates, jewelry, flowers, or even a well-chosen Valentine card with a verse written by some stranger. Sorry, rant off.
